  • Gerold Krozewski is Professor of Global History at Osaka University, Japan. He is a historian of international and transnational relations with a special interest in European colonial empires in the nineteenth and twentieth century, especially in Africa. Previously, he taught in the History Department, University of Sheffield, England, and in the International History and Politics Section of the Graduate Institute of International Studies, Geneva, Switzerland. He has also worked as a Research Fellow at the University of the Free State (South Africa). His principal published research focused on the end of the British empire and Britain’s external economic relations, the role of colonies in the policies and doctrines of European nation-states, and Britain’s overseas aid relations. His publication outlets include Palgrave Macmillan (Money and the End of Empire. 2001), Routledge, and a range of academic journals, including the Economic History Review.
